Activities

In addition to Sunday evening services, the primary activities of Abundant Life Centre are prayer and pastoral ministry. Pastor John Watson has years of experience in personal prayer and counselling to individuals and couples. He is supported and assisted in this by some of the team at Abundant Life. If you would like to talk to someone or receive prayer, please give John a call on 0211237195 to make an appointment.

Once a week there is a homegroup, usually held at the Watson home, but sometimes at other people’s homes. These are a pleasant, warm time of worship, fellowship and teaching or discussion.

Sometimes we have baptisms – when individuals want to make a public confession and surrender to Jesus. We also celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, work achievements and other notable occasions that are special.

At Abundant Life Centre, we believe it is very important to equip and teach believers to be able to minister to others. Equippers School is a year-long course provided periodically for this purpose. Equippers School consists of weekly teaching sessions based on Jesus’s own teachings, as well as practical opportunities to put what is learned into practice.

Many of our people are actively involved in supporting local community events. These include the annual Dunedin Light Party, the Dunedin Christmas Dinner, and Christmas in the Stadium, all of which are organized by a local trust – Acts of Kindness Charitable Trust.

We also support the international outreach Wake Up Ministry, and New Zealand national outreach Southern Fire. These were birthed with the call and purpose of “taking the Gospel to the world”!

At Abundant Life Centre, as part of the local South Dunedin community, we want to help people in any positive and appropriate way we can. If you have a need, please feel free to give us a call. Or come and join us on Sunday evening!
